WGU Adds AJ Jackson as Strategic Partnerships Manager

Online nonprofit Western Governors University (WGU) has announced that Anthony “AJ” Jackson has been named a Strategic Partnerships Manager. In this role, Jackson will help develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with employers and related organizations throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.

Education Leader to Help Build Partnerships and Grow Enrollment

A resident of Charlotte, Jackson has extensive experience in business, recruitment, and workforce development. His work history includes serving as a university development counselor at Grand Canyon University and as a territory director for workforce solutions at the University of Phoenix. He was also a licensed real estate broker in the Carolinas and vice president and account executive for MTV Networks in New York City.

Jackson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from North Carolina A&T and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is happily married, a father of three boys, the owner of a three-year-old Rottweiler, and a big fan of New York’s pro teams, including the Knicks, Yankees, Giants, Rangers, and Liberty. Jackson is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

“AJ is a dynamic addition to our strategic partnerships team and has already hit the ground running,” said Ben Coulter, Ed.D., regional director for WGU’s Southeast Region and chancellor of WGU North Carolina. “As WGU enhances its post-secondary offerings, including new certificates and degree programs, AJ will help us form partnerships with employers that will address workforce needs today and into the future.”
