Chamber Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremonies are the perfect way to celebrate new beginnings and milestones for our local businesses. These events mark the official opening of new ventures, expansions, or relocations and provide an excellent opportunity for community members to show their support. We’re here to welcome these businesses to our community and celebrate their contributions to our local economy.

IMPORTANT: You must be a current member of The Chamber to request a ribbon-cutting ceremony. If you would like to hold a ribbon-cutting event at your business, you will need to join The Chamber first, then request a ceremony via the form below.

Ribbon cuttings can be scheduled within these time slots:
**• Wednesdays at 11 am or 4 pm subject to availability
• Thursdays at 11 am or 4 pm subject to availability**

What The Chamber does

We invite the mayor’s office, city officials, the Chamber Board of Directors, and Chamber Ambassadors.
We promote the event through member email newsletters and the Chamber website calendar.
We help provide you with referrals from Chamber members for professional photography, catering, balloons, and more.
We bring the giant scissors and ribbon.

Order Of Ceremony

The entire ceremony takes approximately 5-10 minutes.
First, a Chamber representative speaks; next, a city official (Mayor or City Council) speaks. Finally, you talk to the crowd. Share with everyone what makes your business unique. This is your time to celebrate your achievement.
We will stage group photos and then count down to cut the ribbon. The Chamber team is happy to take pictures for you if you do not have a photographer.

Some Tips for Planning Your Ribbon Cutting

Work with the Chamber staff to set a date
Please refer to the request form below for preferred time slots.
Attend a ribbon cutting before yours!
Invite vendors, clients, family, friends, customers, and contacts. Make it a party!
We do not track RSVP’s from Chamber invitations. Plan on approximately 5-12 guests attending from The Chamber.
Keep your event simple and focus on showcasing your business.
Check the Chamber Member Directory for local business referrals, such as caterers, photographers, balloon artists, and more, to support you with your planning.

4. Businesses must be active members of The Chamber to have a ribbon cutting. Is your business an active member of The Chamber, Leading Business in Cabarrus? *

(Please note: Due to delays outside of your control, we recommend planning a ribbon cutting after this is received or allowing extra buffer time.) We encourage you to plan at least two to three weeks in advance. The ceremony itself takes just a few minutes to complete, so a 30-minute to one-hour time span is more than enough time, depending on your plans.
