Goal 1:

Drive policy change and community investment in workforce solutions.

Strategies:

  • Create a coalition of public and private sector partners to address persistent barriers to work (education, housing, transportation, childcare, etc.).

  • Leverage this coalition to identify and secure funding and policy solutions to eliminate these barriers to work.

  • Expand resources available for small business education around workforce development.

  • Educate and advocate with elected officials around barriers to work, including data, resource needs, and policies.

Grow our membership to better reflect the breadth and diversity of Cabarrus businesses.

Strategies:

  • Create a structured, strategic process to educate and engage all board members and Ambassadors in new member recruitment.

  • Strategically recruit new members in ways that increase the diversity of the Chamber’s members.

  • Host behind-the-scenes events and VIP experiences to introduce the Chamber to larger, multistate, and multinational corporations.

Increase member connection and engagement.

Strategies:

  • Create and pilot affinity groups that allow similar businesses to connect, learn, and collaborate with each other.

  • Recruit and train Ambassadors to reach out to under-engaged members and connect them to programs, services, and events.

  • Design and pilot special events targeted to specific member types (sizes, industries, geographies, demographics).

Strengthen our organizational and financial capacity.

Strategies:

  • Invest in staff capacity, skills, and compensation to support membership growth, new programming, and increased member engagement.

  • Research and secure grant funding to strengthen workforce development and remove barriers to work.

  • Develop a nonpartisan training program to cultivate a pipeline for informed, skilled public service leadership.
