A highlight of the Annual Meeting is the presentation of our prestigious Annual Awards. These awards honor businesses and individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to the Cabarrus County community. We are proud to celebrate the following award categories.

The Duke Energy Citizenship and Service Award is a prestigious honor presented to a Cabarrus resident who has demonstrated a commitment to the betterment of our community. No candidates for political office or seated public officials shall be considered.

The Community Impact Award recognizes a local business that is committed to giving back to the Cabarrus County community through the time and talents of its owners and/or employees. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ongoing participation with any Cabarrus County nonprofit or community organization, as well as the percentage of their employees who are involved in the effort.

The Ambassador of the Year award recognizes the Chamber ambassador who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and engagement throughout the year, earning the highest points through volunteerism, member outreach, and event support.

The Employee Extra Mile Award stands as a testament to the exceptional efforts of an individual who, through their tireless work and extraordinary contributions, has gone the extra mile in their company or organization. As a chamber, we hope to recognize not only this employee, who, as part of our workforce, has set themselves apart as an example of passion and dedication but also the employer’s role in helping them grow in their career and become one of Cabarrus County’s leaders.

The Leadership Cabarrus Alumni Impact Award recognizes alumni who have leveraged their leadership training to create tangible, positive change within Cabarrus County. This award acknowledges those who have consistently applied their skills and passion to address community needs and drive progress.

The New Business of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding new business and its efforts to become a prosperous member of this growing and dynamic community. Nominees should have been in business for less than three years and be able to measure success by sales, profits, and/or employee growth relative to the business plan.

The Nonprofit of the Year Award recognizes a nonprofit that demonstrates outstanding work in improving the Cabarrus County community by addressing a specific need or challenge within the community. Applicants must demonstrate accomplishment in the face of unforeseen challenges, changes, or adversity.

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes an accomplished business that has become a leader in the community. To be nominated, the company must demonstrate unique growth, innovation, civic or community contributions, and leadership qualities that have contributed to its success.
