Since joining the Town of Harrisburg in May 2018 as Deputy Finance Director, Lee has been an integral part of the municipality’s growth. Following his promotion to Finance Director in July 2020, he has spearheaded initiatives to strengthen the Town’s financial standing through long-term planning and forecasting, while simultaneously improving the customer service experience for residents.

“Brian has consistently demonstrated the professionalism, judgment, and dedication necessary to take on expanded responsibilities in support of our staff and the community,” said Town Manager, Rob Donham. “I am extremely excited to have him in this new role. His appointment reflects our commitment to developing strong leadership from within to serve our citizens with excellence.”

Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from Appalachian State University. In 2013, he earned the position as a Certified Public Accountant. He also obtained the Certified Local Government Finance Officer designation in 2020. Lee is a graduate of the UNC School of Government’s Municipal and County Administration program and is currently a member of the Leadership Cabarrus Class of 2026.

As Assistant Town Manager, Lee will expand his leadership responsibilities by supporting the Town Manager’s office while also assisting the Town Council in advancing Harrisburg’s strategic priorities, major projects, and operational excellence, while also continuing to oversee the Town’s financial operations.

“I am honored to have this privilege to expand my role with the Town,” said Lee. “I am excited to contribute to Harrisburg’s projects and initiatives and support the Town Council and Management in our pursuit of excellence.”
