The Town of Harrisburg is proud to be the recipient of the 2025 Celebrate Cabarrus Destination Visionary Award, presented by the Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovative thinking, and meaningful contributions to tourism and the travel industry.
The Town of Harrisburg was selected for its bold vision, long-term planning, and deep commitment to enhancing the quality of life for both residents and visitors. The Cabarrus County CVB highlighted Harrisburg’s intentional innovation, dedication to community wellbeing, and heartfelt efforts to shape a vibrant future for Harrisburg.
Over the past year, the Town of Harrisburg has celebrated several significant milestones that highlight its commitment to wellness and innovation, including receiving the award for the Healthiest Employer in North Carolina, being the first community in Cabarrus County be certified as a “Heart Safe Workplace”, strategic investments in infrastructure promoting quality of life, and launching the One Harrisburg Strategic Comprehensive Plan.
Harrisburg is known for its signature community events that create a meaningful experience for everyone, including the beloved July 4th Celebration and Parade, the Rockin’ the Burg Concert Series, the Harrisburg Multicultural Festival, and more. Additionally, the Town continues to invest in public amenities that support recreation and health, including the new Harrisburg YMCA, expanding youth athletic programs, new turf fields, and preserving the local history through the Historic Mill & Museum.
