Forum will provide information about proposed projects at the College’s South Campus for additional educational space.
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will hold a community information forum on Thursday, October 1, to provide Cabarrus County residents with information about the proposed 2026 Cabarrus County Community College General Obligation Bond and the projects it would support at the College’s South Campus.
The forum will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in Building S201, Room 107 at South Campus, 1531 Trinity Church Road in Concord. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about the proposed projects, the College’s facility needs and the bond process.
Since 2020, Cabarrus County enrollment at Rowan-Cabarrus has increased 22%, creating additional demand for educational space to prepare students for careers that support the region. The proposed projects would add capacity at South Campus through a new 70,000-square-foot facility and renovations to Building S201, the first building constructed there in 1990. The additional space would support workforce education and career preparation as Rowan-Cabarrus works to meet increasing demand from students and employers across Cabarrus County.
The ballot asks voters whether to authorize up to $60 million in general obligation bonds for Rowan-Cabarrus Community College projects. For every $100,000 of assessed property value, the estimated tax impact of the Rowan-Cabarrus bond is approximately $7.50 per year once the full amount has been borrowed.
Community members are invited to attend the forum to hear directly from College leaders, review the proposed South Campus projects and ask questions about the bond, its estimated cost and what it would fund.
