The City of Kannapolis invites everyone, especially neighborhood associations, community groups, and homeowner associations, to join the Kannapolis Police Department from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, at Veterans Park, 119 N. Main Street, to celebrate National Night Out. Our police and fire department staff, as well as other community partners, look forward to meeting and interacting with everyone. Bring your lawn chair to stay and enjoy the event’s festivities.
Non-Profit Vendors Welcome
The band, 9 DayTrip, will perform during the event. The group hails from the Carolinas and plays a mix of soulful blues, Carolina country, and rock ‘ n ‘ roll. They have won several awards, including Best Americana Group of the Year by the Carolina Music Awards.
We will celebrate with free food, adult Bingo, children’s games, and much more. Free school supplies and backpacks will also be given out. Non-profit organizations will also be on hand if you need information on community services or if you would like to learn more about volunteering with an organization.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes a true sense of community and provides an excellent opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under favorable circumstances. The goal of National Night Out is to foster police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, making our neighborhoods safe and caring places to live.
