The Town of Harrisburg is pleased to announce Cornelia Knight as the winner of the 2025 Harrisburg Arts Scholarship.
A Love For The Arts
The annual $1,000 scholarship, offered by the Harrisburg Arts, Culture, and Heritage (HACH) Committee, is awarded to a graduating senior in Harrisburg who demonstrates exceptional talent in a fine art area and intends to pursue a career in the arts at the University level. After careful review and consideration, members of the HACH Committee chose Cornelia Knight as the 2025 winner for her outstanding visual arts application and portfolio.
Cornelia is a native of Harrisburg, having lived in Town her entire life. Her education began with homeschooling until she entered high school. She is a graduating senior at Covenant Day School in Matthews, North Carolina.
Her interest in visual art began at a young age, starting with painting and drawing projects. As she grew older, her passion deepened, and her interests expanded as she learned to utilize her talents in digital art projects and ceramics. Cornelia plans to use her awarded scholarship funds to support her pursuit of higher education at North Carolina State University, where she intends to focus her studies in the Art and Design program.
“I love the arts for many reasons, one of which is the flexibility it allows for the creator to use their imagination freely,” says Cornelia. “It only made sense to me that visual art was what I wanted to further pursue as a career and hopefully all my life.”
The HACH Committee is honored to have Cornelia Knight as the 2025 recipient of the Harrisburg Arts Scholarship.
