Cabarrus College Offers Affordable, Close-to-Home Option for Local Students

Local high school students looking for a quality education and an affordable college — close to home — look no further than Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.

Cabarrus College, which has educated generations of caring healthcare professionals in our community, offers 10 degrees in eight healthcare disciplines for first-year students, along with generous scholarships that make the college affordable for all.

An affordable, University-quality education without moving away from home

Student Alisha Samuels, who plans to use the college’s biomedical sciences degree as her springboard to becoming a surgeon, is just one example of a talented local student who has chosen Cabarrus College. “Cabarrus College, being 15 minutes away from where we live, was the best choice for me,” she said.

“Cabarrus College is an outstanding option for local students who want an affordable, university-quality education without moving away from home,” said college President Dr. Cam Cruickshank. “We’re a great solution for parents, too. We’re the least expensive private college in North Carolina, we offer a robust scholarship program, students can live at home, and more than 98% have jobs within 6 months of graduation, many of them working right here in our community.”

As a home-grown institution, Cabarrus College also strongly emphasizes access and affordability for local students.  The centerpiece of the college’s scholarship program is the Cabarrus Cares Scholarship, which covers up to 100% of tuition and general fees for first-time, full-time students from North Carolina who enroll within 1 year of high school graduation and demonstrate financial need. The college also offers a wide range of additional scholarships, including merit-based and legacy scholarships, an alum association scholarship, and numerous scholarships for transfer students.

Cabarrus College offers options for students who want to jump into a career quickly with a 1- or 2-year degree or those who want a 3- or 4-year college experience. Degrees for first-year students include:
