The Town of Harrisburg is now accepting applications for the 2025 Citizens Academy, an interactive nine-week program designed to give residents and those who work in Harrisburg a behind-the-scenes look at local government operations.

The Citizens Academy will start on Wednesday, September 10, and wrap up with a special graduation ceremony on Monday, November 10. Each week, participants will connect with Town staff and community leaders, explore Town departments, tour facilities, and get a look at the services and operations that keep Harrisburg running.
From Public Safety and Parks to Planning, Public Works, and more, participants will see how each part of the Town works together to serve the community and support the Town’s growth and development. Whether you are new to Harrisburg or a long-term resident, the Citizens Academy is a great way to learn, ask questions, and get involved.
Applications are now open through August 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up! The program is free and open to anyone 18 or older who lives or works in Harrisburg.
