Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you disagree with our policies and practices, you should not access or use our Website. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may occasionally change (see Changes to our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of the Website after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.
Children Under the Age of 13
Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on or through the Website or on or through any of its features, or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at apaladino@cabarrusncchamber.org.
Information We Collect About You & How We Collect It
We may collect several types of information from and about users of our Website, including:
- Aggregate information from users browsing our Website.
- Information from users interested in becoming members, for example, the individual’s name, company name, email address, company phone number, and payment information.
- This includes information about your internet connection, the equipment and devices you use to access our Website, and usage details.
We may collect this information:
- Directly from you when you provide it to us.
- Automatically as you navigate through the Website.
- Information collected may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.
- From third parties, such as our payment processor.
Information You Provide to Us
The information we collect on or through our Website may include:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Website. This includes information provided when subscribing to one of our services or requesting further services.
- Residential addresses, business names, business addresses, and contact information for third parties may include individuals’ names, phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses, some of which may contain personal information.
- We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our Website.
- If you contact us, we will keep records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses).
- Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.
- You may elect to store a credit card on file, which The Chamber can charge when prompted by the user. Still, The Chamber cannot access the card number and details securely stored by a third-party payment processor.
Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies
As you navigate through and interact with our Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your devices, data, equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:
- Details of your visits to our Website, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data, and the resources you access and use on the Website.
- Information about your devices, computer, and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.
- Information about the status of devices connected to our Website.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
- Cookies (or browser cookies): A cookie is a small file placed on your device or computer to enhance the user’s experience. When you register, the system will ask whether you want your name and password to be remembered. This approves the attachment of a cookie so that you will remain logged into the Website next time you visit. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you must log in each time you visit the site to enjoy full benefits, including member event pricing and content. Login information and information tracked by cookies are not provided to any third parties. They are only accessed by The Chamber staff if a user needs their password reset.
- Flash Cookies: Certain website features may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on the Website. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as browser cookies. For information about managing your privacy and security settings for Flash cookies, see Choices about How We Use and Disclose Your Information.
- Web Beacons: The Website’s pages and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit The Chamber, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
We may tie this information to personal information about you that we collect from other sources or that you provide to us.
Do Not Track
As discussed above, because we may track Website usage information through cookies, pixels, and other tracking mechanisms, your selection of the “Do Not Track” option provided by your browser may not affect our collection of cookie information. The only way to completely “opt out” of collecting any information through cookies or other tracking technology is to actively manage the settings on your browser to delete and disable cookies and other tracking/recording tools. However, getting a “Do Not Track” signal to work as you might want is difficult. Using browsers as an example, not all tracking technologies can be controlled by browsers; unique aspects of your browser might be recognizable even if you disable a tracking technology; not all settings will necessarily last or be effective; even if a setting is practical for one purpose data still may be collected for another; and even if one Website observes a “Do Not Track” signal, that Website usually will not be able to control other websites.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to the Website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumventing any privacy settings or security measures on the Website.
